su·per·he·roˈ so͞opərˌhirō/noun

  1. a benevolent fictional character with superhuman powers, such as Superman.

Not all superheroes wear capes, mine wears Paw Patrol T-shirts and Nikes...

Dear Romeo,

Watching you at your preschool graduation has to be one of my proudest moments yet. I knew that it would be a cute ceremony full of laughter and awe from parents but I had no clue how impactful your Pre-K diploma ceremony would be to me.

Each child was required to say what they wanted to be when they grew up, when handed their diploma. Family and friends sitting close asked my thoughts on what your response would be and I was about 90% sure you were going to say a police officer like Chase from Paw Patrol or an athlete like some of your classmates.

For months, you have talked about what you want to be when you grow up and it varied weekly depending on your mood. From a car engineer, to a chef, and then a character from Paw Patrol... you have told me it all! But today, the day of your preschool graduation, you definitely surprised me.

Your response brought tears to my eyes, not because of sadness but because of pure joy and happiness in realizing that what you want to be is exactly what and who you already are!

Romeo you are a SUPERHERO! You are MY superhero! You saved me from a world of mediocrity. Because of you, I began to believe in good in the world. I began to form goals, motivation, ambition, determination, and a mindset & demeanor that can overcome any obstacle!

A superhero can be defined as benevolent fictional character with super human powers. Although you are not fictional, you have the most amazing super powers of unconditional love, nonstop laughter, constant inquisitiveness, and the brain of a legend!

I am so proud of you sir!

You are and will continue to be an awesome superhero.

You will continue to refine and develop your superpowers.

You will save lives.

You will create change.

You will do good in the world...

Because it's in you and with hard work you can do anything you put your mind to! You are an absolutely amazing child and I continue to thank God everyday for blessing me with you!

I love you Romeo and congrats on making it through the first phase of your academic education. Now off to big kids school!

Love Always & Forever,

Mommy :-)
