One of Romeo's favorite things to make is Peach Pie! He got this recipe from his great grandma, whom he proudly calls "Big Grandma"! This recipe is something simple that you can make with your child for dessert, celebrations, and summer cookouts! This video is our ridiculous but fun process of getting the pie done! I hope it makes you laugh and realize that motherhood is nothing but a crazy adult and a child trying to figure things out. The recipe is listed below.
5 (just because Romeo is 5 years old, he wanted 5 cups) cups of peeled and sliced (or chopped) fresh peaches ( preferable from Titan Farms in Monetta, SC; theirs are the best!)
1 cup of flour ( powder as Romeo says)
1 cup of sugar ( Organic or regular)
1 cup of milk ( use less if you want a more cake like crust
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon or ( a little bit as Romeo would say), optional1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Mix flour, sugar, milk, and optional flavors in a bowl
Pour half of mixture in the bottom of the baking pan
Pour peeled & sliced peaches on top of the mixture in the baking pan and spread evenly
Top off the pan with the remainder of the mixture in any creative way you see fit
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
Enjoy with Ice cream!
