"Your life is right now. It's not later. It's not in that time of retirement. It's not when the lover gets here. It's not when you've moved into the new house. It's not when you get the better job. Your life is right now. It will always be right now. You might as well decide to start enjoying your life right now, because it's not ever going to get better than right now—until it gets better right now. the way you're responding emotionally to your life right now, is the basis of what is to come."
On May 18, 2016, I DECIDED to get baptized for the second time. I DECIDED to take charge of my life at that moment. I knew that I wanted to rededicate my life to God but I kept putting it off. For some reason, I believed that I had all the time in the world to get my life together so one day it will eventually happen. I kept telling myself maybe next month, next year, when I'm 30 years old, and so on. I finally had to come to grips with the fact that I was letting life pass me by. I was alive but I wasn't living and once I realized that my mindset began to change...
Deciding water baptism for the second time was a hard decision for me because many of my family members and friends questioned why. Why do you have to submerge again? Why can't you just pray and "get right"? Are you sure that's the right thing to do? These were just a few of the questions that I had to face in the time of my decision. The answer that I came up with was simple. I am getting baptized for the second time because I decided to take charge of my life NOW! The first time around was not enough for me. I was young and motivated but I let the world interfere with the commitment I made with God at my first baptism. Now as a 25 year old woman, I know that I can make wise and educated decisions that will keep me on the path to a better relationship with God that I didn't have the experience to withstand before.
I am no longer going to continue to live my life suffering without the presence of God. I am going to live for the love of God and be thankful for everything He has done for me. I am going to enjoy my life now and take charge of every single day God blesses me with. God saw fit to give me life and let me experience everything life has to offer. The good and bad have all made me who I am and made my life worth living.
